Keith Dragon, as a Transition Sherpa

In a previous life I was a former Senior Executive & CEO for a software development business I started back in 1998. While I was the CEO of my company I had annual success building it from the ground-up while achieving revenue growth, profit, along side of recruiting and staff development with talented individuals. My past experience included a focus on technical industries including software development and wireless telecommunications.

Drawing on my extensive experience as a CEO and business leader, I understand the complexities of navigating major transitions - whether they involve career changes, personal growth, or new beginnings. Building a successful company from the ground up taught me the importance of resilience, strategy, and cultivating the right support systems to overcome challenges and achieve goals. These lessons have deeply informed my approach to this type of work, where I now guide others through their own transformative journeys.

As a trained coach, I can play a crucial role in helping each client process their own experience to forge new beginnings in their lives. My role as a coach is to help clients build practical wellness strategies, such as mindfulness practices, regular exercise, and proper nutrition, to maintain their health and well-being.

I focus on supporting my clients with life transitions around their career and overall life focusing on individual growth to explore the positive space created by planning a growth journey. The areas we explore in a collaborative relationship are for growth, new beginnings and goal setting.

My ultimate goal is to empower each client to navigate their transition positively and turn challenges into opportunities to improve their overall well-being. I assist by helping clients create a holistic support system that enhances their life goals, promotes their overall well-being, and helps them achieve lasting positive changes in their lives.

A New Path
Creating a Sage Path
Your Compass

Creating a transition plan or improving wellness isn’t something that happens with the wave of a magic wand, especially when life feels like it’s hit a dead-end. Many people start out the year with bold resolutions - like joining a gym to lose weight or starting a new wellness routine - only to find themselves giving up after a week. The journey to improve mental or emotional wellness often follows a similar pattern.

Through my own experience, I discovered that meaningful and lasting change requires more than just good intentions. It’s about embracing a forward-thinking path and enlisting the right tools, strategies, and support. For me, this meant engaging with skilled individuals to co-create a holistic plan for my wellness and personal growth.

What truly transformed my journey was cultivating curiosity and a willingness to do the deep, inner work. This work couldn’t be done by anyone else - it had to be done by me, for me, and through me. Much of this transformation took place in what I call the “in-between” space - a purposeful (mind)set and setting of reflection where I created room to process, release, and plan for the future.

The "in-between" space became a sanctuary where I focused on letting go of old patterns while envisioning a new path forward. I was intentional about two key elements: my mindset and my setting. By being mindful, I prioritized setting clear intentions before stepping into this reflective space and ensured I built time into my routine to process and recalibrate.

This mindfulness became the foundation for lasting change. It was within this space that I set goals, redefined my priorities, and made intentional adjustments to improve my overall health and wellness. For me, mindfulness wasn’t just an act - it was a tool that allowed me to create the clarity and resilience needed to chart a new course in life.

The Set and Setting

The mindset and setting are two foundational elements that influence personal growth and transformation. They work together to create the right environment - both internally and externally - for meaningful change.

The Set, aka the Mindset

The mindset is your internal state of being - the thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes you bring to any situation or challenge. It’s about how you perceive yourself, your goals, and the obstacles in your way. A growth-oriented mindset emphasizes curiosity, adaptability, and resilience, enabling you to see challenges as opportunities for learning rather than roadblocks.

In the context of life transitions, mindset involves:

  • Clarity: Understanding what you want to achieve and why it matters to you.
  • Intentionality: Approaching each step with purpose and focus.
  • Self-compassion: Being kind to yourself through setbacks and recognizing progress, no matter how small.
  • Openness: Being willing to explore new ideas, perspectives, and possibilities.

Developing the right mindset involves shifting from a place of fear or stagnation to one of empowerment and growth, creating the mental space to embrace transformation.

The Setting

The setting refers to your external environment - the physical, social, and emotional space where you engage in reflection, decision-making, and action. It’s about intentionally creating surroundings that support your growth and help you maintain focus.

An effective setting includes:

  • Physical Space: A quiet, comfortable, and distraction-free environment that fosters reflection and creativity, such as a cozy corner at home, a favorite spot in nature, or even a café where you feel inspired.
  • Supportive Relationships: Surrounding yourself with people who encourage and uplift you, providing a network of accountability and positivity.
  • Time for Reflection: Carving out dedicated time to pause, reflect, and evaluate your progress without feeling rushed or pressured.
  • Tools and Resources: Having access to anything that aids your process, such as journals, planners, or mindfulness apps.

Developing the right mindset involves shifting from a place of fear or stagnation to one of empowerment and growth, creating the mental space to embrace transformation.

How the Set and the Setting Work Together

The mindset provides the internal clarity and direction, while the setting creates the external space to take action and reflect. Together, they form a balanced approach to growth:

  • With the right mindset, you can approach challenges and opportunities with curiosity and determination.
  • With the right setting, you can minimize distractions and create a space where transformation can take root.

By intentionally cultivating both, you set the stage for meaningful, lasting change in your life
